Medication Name: Cosopt (Dorzolamide & Timolol Ophthalmic)
Active Ingredients: Dorzolamide hydrochloride (carbonic anhydrase inhibitor)
Timolol maleate (beta blocker)
Purpose: To reduce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension
Dosage Form: Ophthalmic solution (eye drops)
Available Strengths: Dorzolamide 20 mg/mL and timolol 5 mg/mL
Equivalent to dorzolamide 22.26 mg/mL and timolol 6.83 mg/mL
Dosage Frequency: Usually 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart
Route of Administration: Ophthalmic (eye)
